What to expect in a typical visit?

Before the visit – You will receive a questionnaire containing questions to better understand your concerns for your pet and also to better understand your pet’s Chinese Medicine constitution.

The first visit – We will sit down together and talk about your concerns and a Chinese Medicine exam will be performed. Depending on the exam results, treatment will be recommended, including acupuncture, electroacupuncture, aqua-acupuncture and herbal supplements. The first treatment session will be performed with you being with your pet. Usually the first session will be less intense to gauge how your pet is able to handle the treatment.

Follow-up exams – These could range from 2-3 times a week to every few months depending on your pet’s condition and reaction to treatment. Usually the first couple of months will require more intense treatment, while later your pet may only need “maintenance” treatment 2-3 times a year. Also depending on your pet’s personality, you may be able to do “drop-off” sessions with Doggies Delight Pet Grooming.

Sometimes your pet will only need one session to show improvements, but usually it will take 4-6 sessions to see improvements.
